South Shore Conservatory Pianist Wins Grand Prize in the Talented Young Musician Competition

Seventeen-year-old Jennifer Boyd of Hull

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) congratulates pianist Jennifer Boyd of Hull who took grand prize in the Talented Young Musician Association's 13th Annual Russian Music Competition held in Boston in early November.

As a winner, Jennifer will perform Tchaikovsky’s “Dumka” at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, December 11. A student of piano instructor Mark Goodman, 17-year-old Jennifer has studied at SSC since 2010. She has participated in competitions over the past few years, placing first in the high school division of SSC’s 2016 Piano Competition, and being named overall winner of the 2015 Concerto Competition, and recipient of the Hui Min Wang Scholarship award.

In addition to being the accompanist for SSC Community Voices, Too!, South Shore Conservatory’s chorus for developmentally delayed adults, Jennifer plays piano in an SSC trio that placed second in SSC’s 2016 Concerto Competition. Jennifer is a junior at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, and has studied with Xixi Zhou, Regina Yung, and Margaret Li at SSC.
