South Shore Conservatory’s Chase Away the Winter Blues Raises Funds for Arts Scholarships and Outreach

South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces that its 11th annual Chase Away the Winter Blues gala on Saturday, January 28, raised over $230,000, making it the most successful Blues event to date. The River Club in Scituate, a new venue for the event, drew a sold-out crowd of over 230 guests. Guests were welcomed with cocktails and a sumptuous raw bar, donated by Legal C Bar and Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham. During dinner, guests were treated to performances by current and alumni vocal students, who were past recipients of merit scholarships while studying at South Shore Conservatory. Guests also watched the premier of a video featuring SSC’s Creative Arts Therapy program and Community Partnerships program, specifically ImagineARTS, an arts and literacy outreach program in Brockton public schools. The evening continued with an exciting and successful live auction followed by dancing and music by In the House band. Proceeds from the gala benefit Community Partnerships and Creative Arts Therapy programs, as well as SSC’s scholarship fund.
