South Shore Conservatory’s Concert Series Presents Inspirations
SSC piano faculty members share their favorite inspirational music

Behind every great performer and teacher is a great inspiration, be it a family member, friend, teacher, or composer. South Shore Conservatory’s piano faculty members share what inspires them musically, as they present Inspirations on Sunday, March 12, 4 pm at 64 St. George Street in Duxbury, and Sunday, March 19, 4 pm at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham. Both concerts are free.
Inspirations is the fifth of five programs in SSC’s renowned Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) 2016/17 season. CCS concerts showcase the multiple talents of the Conservatory’s faculty of almost 100 educator/performers. Audience members are encouraged to reserve their seat by leaving their name and number of guest on SSC’s box office line at 781-749-7565, ext. 22 or by visiting www.sscmusic.org/concert_series.html.
Before they perform each piece, each piano faculty member will share their personal connection with the composer who inspired them. Audience members will hear a vast variety of musical styles - from Maurice Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit, “Ondine,” to a fugue by Emerson, Lake and Palmer, to an SSC faculty member’s arrangement of Flamenco Sketches by Miles Davis and Bill Evans, to pieces by Frederick Chopin, Nikolai Kapustin and others.
