South Shore Conservatory’s Mad Love Rocks On with Second Annual Music Festival
Celebrating music and supporting young musicians

For music lovers, the music keeps playing as South Shore Conservatory (SSC) announces the second annual Mad Love Music Festival, on Sunday, October 9, from 11 am to 5 pm, at the Jane Carr Amphitheater at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham.
This special one-day outdoor festival celebrating the life of David Jodka, his passion for music, and his desire to support future musicians, features local musicians, food, drink and activities for the whole family. Last year’s event sold out in advance of the festival.
In 2014, the Jodka family’s life took an unexpected turn when Dave, an incredible father and musician passed away from cancer at the age of 44. Throughout his life, Dave shared his love of music whenever possible, especially with his children, some of whom are SSC students. Because of this, his family knew the best way to keep his memory alive was through music.

“In Dave’s life and in Dave’s death, music has allowed our family to celebrate, connect, grieve, heal, dance, and grow,” said Kathleen Jodka, Dave’s wife. “Now, through Dave's inspiration and the generosity of family, friends, and all Mad Love supporters, we are able to offer a unique, competitive and super cool opportunity to local high school students. I am honored and humbled to be a part of it all.”
As in 2015, proceeds from this year’s Mad Love Music Festival support SSC’s Dave Jodka Scholarship for Future Rockers. The scholarship, which is open to freshman, sophomores and juniors from high schools on the South Shore, covers all expenses associated with performing in the band it creates. Most importantly, the scholarship also pays for a coach and other professionals who will truly help the students develop as a band.

This year, the Mad Love Band, which received the scholarship from last year’s event, hits the Mad Love stage for the first time, allowing Dave’s memory to truly rock on and demonstrate the positive impact support can have on young musicians.
In addition, this year’s talented lineup includes The Sheila Divine, Dirty Bangs, Girls Guns and Glory, The Aldous Collins Band and Ball in the House.
Tickets to Mad Love Music Festival are $30 for adults and $10 for children. VIP tickets are also available for $100 in addition to a $50 virtual rocker ticket for fans to support Mad Love even if they are unable to attend.
