South Shore Conservatory’s Summer Spotlight 2017 Season Tickets on Sale
Billy Joel Tribute band hits the Carr Amphitheater stage

Tickets to South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) 2017 season of its Summer Spotlight outdoor concert series go on sale May 1. This season marks the 21st anniversary for the series, which features Evenings Under the Stars (EUS) Saturday evening concerts, and much-loved Wacky Wednesdays family concerts. All performances take place in the Jane Carr Amphitheater at One Conservatory Drive in Hingham.
Wacky Wednesdays family concerts, sponsored by the The Harold and Avis Goldstein Trust, start on July 5 with Boston-based children’s singer-songwriter Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys, followed by the toe-tapping original music of award-winning interactive entertainer Karen K and the Jitterbugs on July 12. New to the Wacky Wednesday stage, Alastair Moock and Friends features 2013 GRAMMY® Nominee, two-time Parents’ Choice Gold Medal Winner, recipient of the ASCAP Joe Raposo Children’s Music Award Alastair Moock on July 19. Debbie and Friends bring their brand of fun, energetic and interactive pop music for elementary students to the stage on July 26. As in past years, complimentary lemonade and chocolate milk are on tap for thirsty children and adults alike.
Evenings Under the Stars (EUS) Saturday evening concerts feature a wide range of performances, from Mozart to Billy Joel to Celtic music. On July 8, EUS kicks off Evenings Under the Stars Festival Orchestra, with Hingham-native conductor Nicholas Palmer, presents Mozart and More, and features SSC clarinetist Peter Bianca. On July 15, WGBH radio’s Brian O’Donovan returns to the EUS stage with A Celtic Sojourn, hosting his familiar and beloved mix of traditional and contemporary artists from the Celtic world. On July 22, Jon Abrams and his Billy Joel Band – a Tribute, fronted by Jon Abrams, one of the stars of the national Broadway tour of the Billy Joel/Twyla Tharp musical "Movin' Out." The band features Billy's original lead guitarist, David Brown. On July 29, SSC voice faculty members and friends perform together in Beguiled Again – the Songs of Rodgers and Hart, which features timeless favorites such as The Lady is a Tramp and My Funny Valentine.

Preconcert receptions allow EUS concertgoers to relax with a glass of wine and light appetizers, converse with other music lovers, and find out a little bit about each performance ahead of time.
All concerts take place in the Jane Carr Amphitheater, One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. Evenings Under the Stars Saturday evening concerts start at 7 pm, Wacky Wednesdays family concerts start at 10 am. Parking for Wednesday morning concerts is onsite for everyone. Although limited onsite parking is available for handicapped patrons, parking for Saturday night concerts for the public is at the Hingham School Bus Depot.

Tickets for Evenings Under the Stars performances purchased before the day of the concert are $40 for pavilion and $25 for lawn seating. Evenings Under the Stars tickets purchased at the door are $45 for pavilion seating and $30 for the lawn. Preconcert reception tickets are $25.
Tickets for Wacky Wednesdays family concerts are $15 adult and $5 children. Season subscriptions to the four Saturday evening concerts are available for $240 for pavilion and $180 for lawn seating and include the pre-concert receptions.
