South Shore Conservatory's Wacky Wednesdays Family Concert Series Presents Little Groove

Kids will be moving and grooving to Little Groove's lively music

South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) Wacky Wednesdays family concert series presents fun, interactive acoustic rock for young children with Little Groove on Wednesday, July 13 at 10 am in the Jane Carr Amphitheater, One Conservatory Drive in Hingham. This is the third of five family-friendly Wednesday morning concerts this summer.

Wacky Wednesdays is one of two series in the Conservatory’s diverse Summer Spotlight outdoor summer entertainment series, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this season. The family series is sponsored by The Harold and Avis Goldstein Trust, with WATD as the media partner. Summer Spotlight also includes Evenings Under the Stars Saturday evening concerts.

The last time Little Groove performed in the Carr Amphitheater, the entire audience was up on their feet, crowd surfing a brightly colored parachute over their heads. Little Groove performances, ideal for children infant through eight, feature fun, educational music that adults also enjoy. Children are encouraged to use their bodies and voices to sing along to catchy songs that help them build important motor and social skills.

Little Groove founder, singer-songwriter/guitarist/pianist Sara Wheeler writes the groups acoustic rock songs. Over the past few years she has recorded more than 100 children’s tunes, including Building Blocks, a Parents Choice Award-winning CD, lauded for having a fun song for almost every hour of the day. At Little Groove performances, children play real instruments such as drums, shakers, and tambourines while they dance, sing, and groove to songs about playtime, sleeptime, trains, planes, rainbows, pigs, monkeys, butterflies, ducks, and dogs!

Other performances in the Wacky Wednesdays family concert series include; Boston-based children’s singer-songwriter Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys on July 20; and Grammy-nominated Zak Morgan on July 27.
