South Street Gallery Offers Art Appraisal Day
Hingham resident Arthur Garrity, a professional fine art appraiser, will offer verbal appraisals right inside the South Street Gallery.

The South Street Gallery will hold an Art Appraisal Day this Saturday for customers who are looking to find out the value of their fine art.
Hingham resident Arthur Garrity, a professional fine art appraiser, will offer verbal appraisals right inside the South Street Gallery. Etchings, prints or original oil or watercolor paintings may be submitted for review, according to Kate Sotolova, Gallery Manager.
Garrity is nationally recognized for his art research and appraisal work. In his past he has worked for museums, corporations and attorneys. To aid him appraisals,, he draws on his art reference library of approximately 4,000 volumes on artist and art history.

The cost of appraisal is $10 per item, and $25 for three appraisals. There is a limit of three appraisals for customer.
The South Street Gallery will donate all proceeds to the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts.

“This is an excellent opportunity for people to get a professional evaluation of art that may have been in their household or family for years.,” Sotolova said in a writte release. “Individuals may wish to know this information for any number of reasons, whether they want to sell, insure, or just for their own knowledge.”
