Court Upholds 2005 Hingham Double Murder Conviction
An appeal from former Hingham resident and convicted murderer James Winquist has been rejected by the state's highest court.

A white supremacists responsible for the murder of two men in Bare Cove Park will continue to serve the remainder of his life in prison.
On Monday, the state’s appeals court rejected an appeal from James Winquist, formerly from Hingham, who was convicted of the 2005 second-degree murder of William Chrapan and David Lyon.
In his appeal, Winquist argued that a key witness should not have been allowed to testify and statements from co-defendant, Eric Snow, who committed suicide in jail six months before the trial, should not have been admitted as evidence. The state’s highest court rejected both arguments.

In 2005, Winquist and Snow beat Chrapan and Lyon to death and placed the bodies in an abandoned bunker in Bare Cove Park. The two, who were part of a small neo-Nazi group called the “Brotherhood of Blood,” killed the men as part of an initiation into the group.
