• Dorothy Thomas, 98 (hopkintonindependent.com) — Hopkinton is mourning Dorothy Eleanor Thomas, a 98-year-old resident who passed away July 23 after a long, full life that began in Indianapolis and later brought her to Massachusetts to be near family. Remembered for her legal career, love of games, theater and travel, she leaves children, grandchildren and a great-grandson; services will be private, with donations suggested to any charity or food pantry.
