Join us for an evening of stand-up comedy at its highest technical and artistic level to support individuals in recovery. Reckless Comedy is a "laugh-until-your-sides-hurt" night where no topic is off the table. Proceeds from the show will be going to the Milford First Congregational Church. They have been paramount in giving the recovery community a space to heal and grow. Get ready to cackle, cry-laugh and leave feeling excited to be part of this crazy thing called life. It's a sober event, but we're going hard. There will be food and drinks provided. Alcohol will not be served out of respect to those in recovery. All are welcome! Please come if you are in recovery and love comedy, or support recovery and love comedy. $20 dollar tickets! Come at 7pm for a social hour! The comedy show will kick off at 8. About Our Comedians!&nbsp; Jason Cordova Jason Cordova is a Boston-based comedian. He has made a name on the national scale, on shows like HBO's Pause with Sam Jay, and performed at legendary clubs like Gotham Comedy Club, The Stand, The Comedy Connection, and Foxwoods Casino. After his first time on stage in 2009, he hasn't stopped, carving out a lane for himself in the Boston comedy scene and rising up the ranks with his hard-hitting, brutal honesty that somehow makes us all feel not so different from each other. Liam McGurk Coming off a featured article in The Boston Globe for his inspiring comedy story, Liam McGurk is one of the most original and exciting comedians working today. Known throughout New England for his laid-back demeanor and cerebral, creatively off-beat material, he brings both thoughtfulness and silliness to the stage. Liam is the only comedian to ever win both the Funniest Person in Massachusetts Competition and the Boston Comedy Festival. He has been featured nationwide at the 10,000 Laughs Festival, Vail Comedy Festival, and many more.&nbsp; Whether he’s exploring pain and perseverance or riffing on Q-tips and Danny DeVito, no topic is too personal or too absurd for his brain’s faulty—or is it faultless?—wiring. On Sunday, September 20th, Sudbury will host our third inaugural <a href="https://kids.pmc.org/sudbury" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride</a>.&nbsp;Our ride is a 1-mile loop that riders may enjoy as long as they would like. The one mile course is entirely paved and loops through the beautiful residential neighborhoods of historic Sudbury. Parents are welcome to ride with their children but it is not required. If a parent chooses to accompany their child on the bike, we ask that they register as volunteers.&nbsp;
Many kids choose to ride the loop 3-6-12 or even 15 times. We encourage riders to participate as long as they would like. We will have special badges for riders who accomplish 5-8-12 and 15 miles, too! Please indicate at registration an estimate of your rider's total distance (this will help us for event organization).&nbsp;There is also an enclosed parking lot loop all starting from Curtis Middle School in Sudbury, MA. (Adults may opt to register as volunteers if they would like to ride with the kids). Before the ride there will be music and bike decorating; during the ride and following there will be an Ice-Cream Truck, Food Truck, Coffee Truck, huge bouncy castle, lawn games, music and more. All registered riders will get a free ice cream from our friends at Trombetta’s Farm Ice Cream. Registration takes place from 8:30am-9:45am. The ride is from 10:00am-11:30am, and food and games will be available from 10:00am - 1:00pm.
“The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Always held the first weekend in August, the PMC raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. Each summer, thousands of riders and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries participate in the PMC, all with a common goal: to find a cure for cancer.
100 percent of all rider-raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 62 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $972 million for Dana-Farber.”
The Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride empowers young participants to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a fun activity. By offering multiple course options, every child will have the opportunity to participate and make a difference - regardless of age or ability. Each ride distance is carefully planned to be safe and enjoyable, with designated routes through historic Sudbury neighborhoods that are well-marked and closely monitored by volunteers. For the youngest participants, the tot lot loop provides a secure environment where kids can ride in a contained area - strollers, scooters, tricycles are ALL welcome!
Beyond the joy of bike riding, the Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride serves as a powerful educational experience for children, teaching them about the impact of collective efforts in fighting cancer. As they pedal for a purpose, they learn about empathy, community involvement, and the importance of supporting breakthroughs in treatment and cures at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This event not only raises crucial funds for cancer research but also instills valuable life lessons in the young riders; collectively we all pedal towards a more cancer-free future. As with all PMC rides, every penny donated goes directly to cancer treatment and research at Dana-Farber.
