LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington police are investigating a unique incident — a pig attacked a man in Landlocked Forest on Thursday. The man's injuries were not life-threatening, but he was taken to the hospital.

"This is the first pig incident in a long time," Lexington police said.

The man called police at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday reporting an "aggressive pig" attacking him. Police said the pig wasn't feral but most likely abandoned in the woods by someone. The pig was left food and police said the woods aren't known to home packs of feral pigs.

"Usually, if we just found a pig in the forest or something and it wasn't aggressive, we call the environmental police and animal control," police said, "but because it was aggressive it had to be put down."

Police are still investigating why it was left in the woods and who might've abandoned it.
