Alan Dawson: Leading Lexingtonian

Lexington has heroes in every century, and the Leading Lexingtonians series celebrates those who have shaped the town through their work, passions, and community contributions. Join us to honor legendary jazz drummer, percussionist, and teacher Alan Dawson, whose career included performances with Quincy Jones, Clifford Brown, Dexter Gordon, and Dave Brubeck, as well as teaching generations of musicians at Berklee and beyond.

Enjoy live music from Chris Neville, Ron Mahdi, and John Ramsay, followed by a celebration of Dawson’s legacy with his daughter Deborah Mullins and former student Mike Powers; cosponsored by the Association of Black Citizens of Lexington (ABCL).
