The farmers market opens, youth theatre auditions and more today in Lexington.

1. Farmers Market's Opening Today: The Lexington Farmers Market opens for the season at 2 p.m. today. Located at the corner of Woburn Street and Mass Ave in Lexington Center, the market is open from 2 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays for the next twenty-something weeks.
2. Chasing Venus: Spend an evening with author Andrea Wulf, courtesy of Lexington Community Education and the Lexington Historical Society, at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Lexington Depot. Wulf's new book, Chasing Venus, is told as a race across the world with rich with tales of obsession, pirates, plagues, astronomers and scientists including Catherine the Great and Benjamin Franklin. This event is free but pre-registration is requested by contacting Lexington Community Education at 781-862-8043.
3. LYST Auditions for 'Wizard of Oz:' Lexington Youth Summer Theatre is looking for children currently in grades 3-11 to audition for its summer production of The Wizard of Oz. Auditions will be be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today, May 29 and tomorrow, May 30, at 3 Militia Drive for performances scheduled for July 26-28. Children should come prepared with 16 to 32 bars and sheet music from a musical, and must be accompanied by a parent.

4. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Capital Expenditures Committee at 8 a.m. at the , the Noise Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m. at and the Community Center Task Force at 7:30 p.m. also at Cary Hall.
5. T-Storms, Maybe: There's a chance of fog early and then showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noontime, as temperatures hit a high of 81, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts more of the same overnight, with a low of 66.
