GenesisHR Battlegreen Run's 25th Race Taking Place on Nov 7th

With the mission of supporting local non-profits, 100 percent of registration and donation proceeds go directly to charity partners.

The Battlegreen Run Foundation Inc (https://www.battlegreenrunfoundation.org/) is excited to announce the 25th anniversary running of the GenesisHR Battlegreen Run taking place on Sunday, November 7, 2021 in Lexington, MA. With the mission of supporting local non-profits, 100 percent of registration and donation proceeds go directly to charity partners. Non-profits organizations can register as a team, or individuals can join in the fun on their own.

Hosted by Boston’s Sports station 98.5, Todd Angilly, the official Anthem Singer of the Boston Bruins, will send the runners along their way with a stirring rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, accompanied by musket fire, courtesy of the Lexington Minute Men. Racers can choose between 10K or 5K race, 5K Walk and Kids Fun Run or a Virtual race and enjoy a day filled with before and after festivities including snacks and food, giveaways, kids and family activities.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer an in-person race this year to celebrate our 25th running and continue our mission of supporting local charity partners,” says Bob Burbidge Battlegreen Run Foundation Board Member. “Since 1996, the race has been able to raise over $650,000 for local non-profits and we’re so proud of being able to continue supporting these worthy causes.”

Since its inception in 1996, the GenesisHR Battlegreen Run has been established as one of the most popular road race events in New England, with its unique setup to support local charities. Non-profits such as Supportive Living, Born to Run and Spencer’s Sprinters have participated over the years as a way to fundraise in a group setting. Team Members manage a personal fundraising page and can solicit donations from friends and family.

“We’ve loved being a part of the Battlegreen Run Foundation’s events – they do an amazing job of bringing organizations together to raise money for worthy causes,” says Judy Lambert, Vice President of the Born to Run Foundation. “Their race perfectly aligns with our mission of showing amputees that you can still run in a race with a disability. It was wonderful to run alongside other charities and organizations for the greater good. Their race definitely gave our team a sense of comradery and also competitiveness with a surge of adrenaline from the first opening shot!”
