Handsome Boy Seeks Happy Ending!

Prescott's story starts out a little sad. He was left behind in an apartment by his owners when they moved away. But Prescott has adjusted well here at the shelter and often follows people around, even rubbing up against them to ask for attention. He also tells us he'd like company by giving little chirps, which is very cute coming from this big boy. Prescott enjoys quiet attention, especially head scratches, and sitting in a comfy bed by a window. One of his favorite pastimes is playing with catnip chile peppers. We think Prescott, who is about 8-years-old, would do best in a quiet household. He seems to be fine with the other cats here at the shelter, so he may be a good companion for your mellow cat at home.

If you are interested in meeting Prescott or any of the cats at The Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter, visit our website (www.giffordcatshelter.org). While you’re there, you can fill out an online adoption application for Prescott and learn more about our shelter. You can also call us at 617-787-8872. We are the oldest cageless no-kill cat shelter in the country, and we’re located right here in Brighton!

The mission of Gifford Cat Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted and injured cats with the goal of re-homing and ending the needless killing of community and companion cats. It was the first cageless shelter in the country and has been in existence since 1884.
