Lexington Basketball Teams Learn Postseason Pairings
Minutemen boys earn No. 12 seed, girls are No. 15 in MIAA North Division 1 sectional tournament.

Seven days removed from capping a wild final week to the regular season that saw the girls’ basketball team squeak into the postseason, the Minutemen finally learned, when, where and against whom they’d open the MIAA North Division 1 sectional tournament.
That wild week, it turns out, earned Lexington (11-9) the No. 15 seed in the playoffs, as the Minutemen learned when tournament pairings were released on Friday. And they won’t be alone.
Lexington’s boys’ basketball team, which finished the regular season at 12-8, will be the No. 12 seed with the North Division 1 boys’ section gets going next week.

The girls’ team entered the final seven days of the regular season needing to win three out of four games to make the postseason. Lexington made it easy on itself by going out and earning victories in all four contests.
On top of the playoff berth, that streak also earned the Minutemen a Preliminary Round home game. The Minutemen will open the tournament against Lawrence High School on Monday night. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
