Lexington High 'American Pride' Dance Theme Deemed Too Controversial
School administrators changed the theme to "National Pride."

An “American Pride” dance at Lexington High School was deemed too controversial and renamed.
The administration changed the theme to “National Pride” to include all nationalities, WHDH reported.

“As the birthplace of the American Revolution, Lexington is proud of our historic roots that have helped to shape the values of our diverse and inclusive community today.”
“Given the diverse demography of our community it was suggested by the advisers that the students come maybe national pride theme so they could represent their individual nationalities,” Assistant Superintendent Carol Pilarski told WHDH.

The renamed dance is scheduled to happen in late April.
