Lexington Police to Hold Self Defense Class for Female-Identified Students

The Lexington Police Department will be holding RESIST self defense training for female-identified students.

LEXINGTON, MA—Have you been in a situation where you had to defend yourself, but don't know the proper techniques? Do you worry about the possibility of such a situation?

The Lexington Police are here to help. The police department announced via its Twitter account that it will be holding RESIST self defense training sessions for female-identified students. The acronym RESIST stands for Realistic Escape Strategies and Instinct-based Self-defense Training.

The course will cover two days. Day one will cover general and dating safety before learning and practicing physical self-defense moves such as strikes, blocks and knee strikes.

Day two will features simulated "attacks" to help students use techniques learned in day one to escape. Police have collaborated with Domestic Violence Services Network, Inc.
