Lexington No. 3 in 'Best Small Cities' in Mass. Rankings

Lexington was ranked high on the 2015 Best Small Cities in America report.

Lexington this week was ranked one of the best small communities in the country.

The Best Small Cities in America report ranked Lexington No. 3 in Massachusetts and No. 26 in the country.

The WalletHub survey ranked about 1,200 small communities based on factors like affordability, schools, and quality of life. Lexington was ranked No. 1 in the country on the “education and health” metric. Here are Lexington’s key rankings:

  • Economic strength: 116
  • Quality of life: 292
  • Affordability: 1,079

Lexington is regularly cited on “best communities” surveys. Earlier this year, it was ranked No. 2 on a list of best Bay State suburbs to raise children. Last year, it was ranked the best community in New England.
