“This is such a wonderful opportunity for all of Lexington to come together to celebrate our tercentennial," she said. "Whatever your favorite century of music, whatever your generation, we've got something for you!”

The evening begins with dance instructors leading New England-style folk dances familiar to colonial Lexington residents and then moves into the 19th and 20th centuries with instruction in waltz and swing dancing. At 8 p.m. the DJ will take over and play a variety of more contemporary music – everything from Elvis and the Beatles to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

“The great thing about Dance Revolution 300 is that you don’t have to be a ‘pro’ to participate," says Kamala Soparkar, co-chair of Dance Revolution 300. "The instructor-led dances are easy and there’s nothing like dancing to live music. And who doesn’t like dancing to a great music mix compiled by a great DJ."

When you’re ready to take a break, come on over to the refreshments area with a variety of food and beverages available to satisfy your post dance cravings.  Staffed with volunteers from our PTAs and LexFUN (who will also have a craft table set up with activities just right for preschoolers), your mouth will be as happy as your feet.

Dance Revolution 300 will be a night to remember!
