Lexington Town Meeting: Decisions from Wednesday's Meeting
A wrap of the decisions from Wednesday's Town Meeting.

LEXINGTON, MA—Lexington Town Meeting approved the ability to create both neighborhood conservation and governmental-civic use districts during Wednesday's Town Meeting.
Lexington Town Meeting passed Article 29 by a 96-55 vote, which allows neighborhoods to create defined conservation districts. 10 or more households can submit an application to create a conservation district to the historical commission. If 25 percent of homeowners opt out, the historical commission and planning board can redraw the boundaries.

Town Meeting also passed a zoning amendment allowing government-owned land to be transferred into governmental-civic use districts. The Lexington Minuteman reports that according to Planning Board Chairman Charles Horning, new zoning the creation of the new zoning would restrict nearly all commercial and residential development in the districts.
The vote passed by a count of 146-10 with five abstaining.

National Flood Insurance District
Town Meeting unanimously voted to update the National Flood Insurance District to reflect the recent update to the Shawsheen River watershed.
Technical Corrections:
The town unanimously voted to make technical corrections to the zoning bylaws. These corrections are corrective in nature, and not intended to change interpretation in any substantial way.
