Lexington Woman Charged with Assaulting Bedford Officer: Report

A Lexington woman has been charged with the assault and battery of a Bedford police officer on July 14.

BEDFORD, MA—A Lexington woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Bedford police officer on July 14, according to a report by the Lexington Minuteman.

The Minuteman reports that Donna A. Brown, 60, allegedly swore at Bedford Police Officer Jared Weisenborn and struck him in the thigh with her knee on the morning of July 14. Brown was arraigned on multiple charges inculding assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Concord District Court on July 15.

According to Weisenborn's statement, two witnesses pointed him and officer Robert Abajian to a woman who was shouting and swearing. When the officers approached Brown, she allegedly swore at Weisenborn and told him to leave her alone, according to the Minuteman's report.

When told that she would be placed in protective custody, Brown allegedly hit Weisenborn in the thigh with her knee, according to the report.

The Minuteman also reports that court records indicate that Brown's address is on Katahdin Drive in Lexington, but records also indicated that she is homeless.
