She finished in 15:37, one of the fastest times ever recorded on the course. She also recently broke the course record at Reading Memorial High School during the regular season.
The award was given out in honor of the late Stoneham High School cross country coach of 22 years and high school English teacher, Phil Riley, who passed away on April 10. Riley was 58 years old.
Coaches, student athletes, and parents paused for a moment of silence at the end of the meet in remembrance of Riley.
Also at the end of the meet, the top 20 runners from each varsity race were awarded with medals, and multiple Lexington runners recieved the honors.
The meet victors were also presented with trophies, and the Lexington girls' varsity captains accepted the trophy on behalf of their team.
