As important members of the dental health team, dental assistants provide a wide-range of clinical skills such as maintaining optimal infection control protocol, manipulation of dental materials, exposing and processing x-rays, giving fluoride treatments, taking impressions, pouring models, fabricating temporary crowns, making whitening trays, etc. Administrative duties include inventory control, record keeping and office procedures. The program reviews relevant academic concepts including key components of good written communication skills, relevant math concepts used for projects such as calculating a patient’s plaque index score, and the body’s digestive, circulatory, nervous, and muscular/skeletal systems and how they affect oral health.
As a part of the program, students participate in an externship in local Dental offices. Graduates receive: MTI Dental Assisting Certificate, OSHA 10-Hour General Safety Certification, CPR / AED, First Aid Certificate, and preparation for Dental Assisting National Board Infection Control Certificate and Dental Assisting National Board Radiation Health and Safety Certificate.

MTI provides students with the required qualifications to confidently seek out and successfully compete for desirable roles in diverse high-growth industries. Adults may apply to the MTI programs to hone their skills in a technical area, retrain for new employment, or learn new technical skills. MTI rapidly equips students with the knowledge, self-confidence, and industry certifications to enhance their existing career or begin a new one.

Most of the MTI’s post graduate programs follow the school calendar and are held from September - June, during the school day. MTI offers interest-free payment plans for all of our programs.
