PHOTOS: Volunteers Honored with Champagne and Shortcake
The Lexington Senior Center and Human Services Department held its annual Volunteer Recognition Reception on Monday June 4 at the Muzzey Senior Center.
What better way to say "Thanks" than a champagne reception with catered lunch and dessert of strawberry shortcake? That's exactly what went down Monday afternoon at the Muzzey Senior Center as the and sparkling wined and dined about 80 of its roughly 120 volunteers.
It was the annual Volunteer Recognition Reception, featuring lunch, punch, guests like members of the Board of Selectmen and Town Manager Carl Valente and Human Services staffers behind the counter disihing out desserts.
"We do this every year to recognize the contributions of all of the volunteers," said Charlotte Rodgers, director of Human Services and the Senior Center. "Almost 14,000 hours is what they do every single year."

The lunch was catered by Wilson Farm, and volunteer Jack Manuel played piano.
