Registration Deadline for State Primary Election is Friday

LEXINGTON, MA — The State Primary election is nearly here, and residents must be registered by Friday in order to vote.

Voters town-wide must be registered to vote by Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. The town clerk's office will be open until 5 p.m. Friday to register voters.

Aug. 19 is also the deadline for registered voters who wish to change their party enrollment either to another party or to “Un-enrolled,” which is commonly referred to as “Independent.”

How to Register

Voters can register in three ways:

1. You can register online by clicking here. Voters must have a valid driver's license, learner's permit, or non-driver ID issued by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. You must also have a signature on file with the RMV
2. You can register through the mail by downloading this registration form and mailing the form to the Town Clerk's office (Office of the Town Clerk, Town Office Building, 1625 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, MA 02420)
3. You can go to the town clerk's office during normal business hours or before 5 p.m. on Aug. 19.
