Sampson is a one-year-old kitty who is very people oriented. He was found as a stray by actually following his rescuer home! Here at the shelter, he's known for falling asleep, belly up, on the laps of our volunteers. Sampson loves looking out windows and eagerly awaits visits from volunteers and staff. We think Sampson must be part Maine Coon, especially because of his big bushy tail. Sampson would love a home in which he gets lots of lap time, Maybe yours?

The mission of Gifford Cat Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted and injured cats with the goal of re-homing and ending the needless killing of community and companion cats. It was the first cageless shelter in the country and has been in existence since 1884.
