Sports Week in Review, April 9 - April 15
Several Lexington residents prepare for the Boston Marathon, as the spring high school sports season kicks into high gear.

When it comes to Patriots' Day, it’s hard not to think of Lexington’s place in American history and how the town helped shape the nation.
However, for dozens of Lexington residents, their attention this holiday will be focused solely on the 26.2 miles that separate Hopkinton and downtown Boston.
This week, Patch caught up with two Lexington residents who will participate in the running of the 115th Boston Marathon on Patriot’s Day.

On Wednesday, we talked to , a native of Switzerland who relocated to the United States 12 years ago. This will be his eighth marathon overall, many of which have been the Boston Marathon, he said.
On Thursday, former athlete talked to Patch about how she got into running and what she plans to eat after crossing the finish line on Boylston Street. This will be her first ever marathon, though she is nursing a quad injury.

For the LHS teams, all their preparation is mercifully over and several kicked their spring seasons into high gear.
On Monday, the boys’ tennis team over Middlesex League rival Winchester. Too bad Mother Nature didn’t let them keep the momentum going, as the Minutemen’s match scheduled for Wednesday was rained out.
Also Monday, the Minutemen’s girls’ lacrosse squad to Reading by one goal. The game featured eight ties.
On Tuesday, the LHS baseball by pounding Woburn by 15 runs on the strength of 20 hits in the Middlesex League opener.
Also this week, New Generation Martial Arts held its annual . More than 80 martial artists participated, some as young as 5 years old.
