With the high school season and state tournaments in the books, the time has come to focus the area sports calendar for the summer months.
Earlier this week, the Lexington United Soccer Club held tryouts for its Lexington Player Development Academy under-16 boys' team. The squad was created this year to keep up with demand for the LPDA's bargain club-team experience.
The U-16 team will compete during the upcoming winter and spring seasons.

Summer got off to a soggy start for the Lexington Blue Sox. Their game against the Testa Corp. Bombers was rained out by severe thunderstorms that swept through the area on Thursday. The Blue Sox's next scheduled game against the Bombers is July 6 in East Boston.
