Trauma Awareness Month: Blood Drives in Lexington
During the month of May, the Red Cross urges donors to donate blood for patient emergencies.

LEXINGTON, MA—May is Trauma Awareness Month, and the American Red Cross is urging donors to donate blood for patient emergencies.
According to a release, the Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood donations to meet the needs of trauma patients and others with serious medical conditions.
There are two American Red Cross blood drives occurring in May in Lexington. The first takes place at Temple Isaiah located at 55 Lincoln St. on May 23 from 2-7 p.m. The second takes place at Knights of Columbus, located at 177 Bedford St. from 2-7 p.m.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, or at least 16 years old with parental consent. They must also be healthy and feeling well and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors must also not have donated blood in the last 56 days.
