📰 News we're reading

• Amazon-based delivery company in Littleton lays off 77 (nashobavalleyvoice.com) — A Littleton-based Amazon contractor, P1 Logistics, plans to lay off 77 workers and shut down operations by late October, marking another significant job loss for the town of about 11,000 residents. Coming on the heels of Dover Saddlery's earlier layoffs at its Great Road facility, the closure raises fresh concerns about Littleton's local job market and economic stability.

• Amid community pushback, law enforcement defends Flock cameras (northeastern.edu) — Littleton resident Amy Tarlow-Lewis is speaking out about Flock license plate cameras, saying she worries local taxpayers are funding constant surveillance of themselves and their kids. Her concerns come as more than a dozen Massachusetts communities, including Littleton, have turned off or ended contracts for the cameras amid broader debates over privacy and police use of the technology.

• Sen. Jamie Eldridge, Tim Shea Advance In Middlesex, Worcester Senate Race (patch.com) — Littleton voters will help decide a key state Senate race this November, as incumbent Democrat Jamie Eldridge faces Republican Tim Shea in the Middlesex and Worcester district. The seat covers Littleton along with several nearby towns, and the candidates are emphasizing contrasting priorities on taxes, education, health care, climate policy, and criminal justice ahead of the Nov. 3 state election.
