$1 Million Winning Lottery Ticket Purchased In Malden

MALDEN, MA — A woman claimed a large prize from the Massachusetts State Lottery this week after hitting the proverbial jackpot earlier this month with a winning ticket purchased from a Malden store.

Larissa Nazario of Everett won the third and final $1 million prize in the state lottery’s “Emerald Mine 50x” instant ticket game. Nazario, who reportedly plans to invest her winnings, chose to receive her funds in the form of a one-time payment worth $650,000 before taxes.

The resident purchased her winning ticket at Broadway Market on 481 Broadway, which is located near the border of both Malden and Everett. The store gets a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the winning ticket.

“Emerald Mine 50X” launched on Wednesday, Jan. 7 and involves scratching the ticket with the hopes of revealing three matching symbols. Any emerald and star symbols can also result in prizes. In addition to Nazario, the two other winners of the game ae from Gloucester and Fall River.
