MALDEN, MA — A resident was killed in a motorcycle crash in New Hampshire last week, according to the Gorham Police Department.
Michaela Svetlana Waldrop, 29, died after the single-vehicle crash on Route 16's North Main Street near mile marker 114.4 at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2. Waldrop was riding as a passenger on the 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle was being operated by Ryan Collins Tidwell, 29, of Berlin, New Hampshire. According to the preliminary investigation, Tidwell was traveling with a second motorcycle when the crash occurred. Police have not yet released additional information about the cause of the crash or Tidwell's condition.
Waldrop had a background in social work and mental health.
The crash prompted the closure of a portion of Berlin/Gorham Road for approximately six hours while investigators from the Gorham Police Department and the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit processed the scene. Traffic was diverted through Cascade Flats during the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
