Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and creativity as we celebrate Explorations Through Line &amp; Wash, a solo exhibition by Malden mixed-media artist Ella Bessmer.
Meet Ella and discover the inspiration behind her whimsical and imaginative work, which blends watercolor, ink, textiles, and recycled materials. From tiny portraits painted on teabags and grains of rice to expressive abstract pieces, her art reflects a joyful spirit of experimentation and a deep appreciation for creativity in all its forms.

Our Summer Enrichment Program for grades K–6 offers a fun, hands-on way to explore Chinese language and culture. Through arts and crafts, cultural games, storytelling, and outdoor activities, kids build creativity, confidence, and cross-cultural understanding — all in a safe, supportive environment.
Open to all levels, it’s the perfect way for children to continue learning, make new friends, and enjoy a vibrant summer of discovery. Don’t worry if you missed our open house — there’s still time to register!

Mount Hood Golf Course

MCB comes back to Mt. Hood each summer for our Fourth of July celebration. Join us under the summer sky for an evening of patriotic favorites, stirring marches, and Broadway and big-band classics as we mark the nation’s 250th birthday — featuring vocalist April Foley and a rousing sing-along finale.
The concert takes place on the lawn beside the clubhouse at Mt. Hood, the City of Melrose’s public golf course. Seating is on the grass, so bring blankets and lawn chairs, gather the whole family, and settle in for a festive evening of music.The concert concludes with a "Parade of Children" flag march while the band plays 'Stars and Stripes" Forever."

This program is ideal for teenagers&nbsp;(in grades 9-12)&nbsp;interested in fashion design! This course is an excellent opportunity from them to develop their sewing and sketching skills.
Two sessions are available during our summer semester. SESSION I: July 6th to July 27th SESSION II: July 29th to August 19th Both are on Mondays &amp; Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We offer two levels: Regular &amp; Advanced (for students who have taken the regular level in the past).

Join us at Idle Hands Craft Ales for pizza, conversation, and connection as we explore the social divides that shape our community.About This Event
What causes people to feel disconnected from one another? Why do social and political divides seem so difficult to overcome? And what can ordinary people do to build stronger connections in their communities?
The Divides Project invites you to an evening of thoughtful conversation, shared food &amp; drink, and community-building at Idle Hands Craft Ales in Malden.
In a time when division often dominates headlines and social media feeds, this event offers something different: an opportunity to sit down with neighbors, listen to diverse perspectives, and explore practical ways to strengthen understanding across differences.
Together, we'll examine some of the forces that contribute to division while also highlighting the relationships, conversations, and creative approaches that can help bring people together.
No special expertise is required—just curiosity, respect for others, and a willingness to participate.

the book, Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton. The film stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum and it is directed by Steven Spielberg.

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path.
