Malden Reads announces its kickoff event to be held Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Malden Public Library (Carr Gallery and Ryder Gallery) from 6:30 β 8:30pm. The evening will offer an opportunity to find out more information about the Malden Reads: One City, One Book program and meet other community members taking part in the program.
The nightβs featured performer is local resident Anton Sviridenko, a student at both Berklee College of Music and the Perkins School for the Blind, performing on violin and piano. Also enjoy classical music played by Malden High School student musicians, hear selected readings from βThe Soloistβ performed by Malden High drama students, mix and mingle with your fellow community members, and enjoy refreshments (provided by Dockside Restaurant, Brother Trucker Food Services, and New England Coffee).
Tours of the old section of the library will also be offered throughout the evening. The main book selection (βThe Soloistβ) and all the K-8 book selections will be available to check out β bring your library card or apply for one onsite!
