Piano and Violin Concert with Ivy Zohra Adrian and Colin Pip Dixon

Ivy Zohra Adrian, pianist, and Colin Pip Dixon, violinist, will perform in the Ryder Gallery at the Malden Public Library on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.  They will play pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel, Albeniz, Navarro, and the world premiere of a composition by Colin Pip Dixon.

Ivy Zohra Adrian is the granddaughter of the late beloved Malden artist and piano teacher, Nevarte Adrian. She holds a B.A. is Music from Colombia University and an M.A in Piano Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York.  She is sought after for her versatility of style and lyrical phrasing and has concertized as a soloist and as a chamber musician in the United States and abroad.

Colin Pip Dixon is originally from New York, but has been living in Paris since 1998. His compositions have received grants from the French institutions SACEM & SPEDIDAM and the French cultural magazine "Etudes" described the music of Suite Khamush as "Admirable music which is both ancient and new, contemporary and traditional, clear yet passionate, with rough, sensual and transparent sounds."
