High Level Sex Offender Moves to Malden

A Level 3 sex offender has moved to Malden, according to police.

Thomas J. Walsh, 50, moved from Randolph to 12 Cedar St., Malden, police said.

Walsh was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older in 1983 and again in 1984, according to the Sex Offender Registry Board. He was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 in 2005,

The Level 3 sex offender designation is reserved for the most severe offenders. Level 3 sex offenders pose a “high risk” to reoffend, according to the state. They are not wanted by police, and it is illegal to use the information provided to commit a crime or engage in any discrimination or harassment against an offender.
