Honey Fitz Irish Pub Closes its Doors

The  closed its doors for good Saturday night.

Stu Mayerson announced on the bar's website he was closing it Saturday night (1/28/2012) after owning it "more than 10 years."

The message was short on details, though he thanked customers for their support in the wake of “bittersweet news.”

“It's been a great time meeting and serving all of you, and doing business in this neighborhood these past years,” he wrote. “So from myself and my staff, thank you!”

The bar, located in a prime downtown location, leaves another open storefront in the city's downtown. According to minutes from the Oct. 18, 2011 Malden Licensing Board, John Cagno, Richard Bransfield and Benedict Faletra have plans to open a new sports bar-style restaurant called "Fizz Ed'z."
