Malden Coaches, Player Named Globe All-Scholastics

Two Malden coaches and a Malden High soccer player were recently named Boston Globe All-Scholastics.

After finishing the season 18-1-2, the Malden High boys’ soccer team was due for some awards, in addition to its Greater Boston League title.

Coach Jeremiah Smith, a Malden High graduate, was named the Division 1 Boys’ Soccer Coach of the Year, while senior Julio DaSilva was a Boys’ Soccer All-Scholastic. DaSilva, a high honor roll student, was also the Greater Boston League MVP, according to the Globe.

Craig Turner, football coach at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, was named the Division 6 Football Coach of the Year. Turner led the 9-2 team to its first ever playoff appearance.
