Malden Early Voting Schedule For Primary Election

MALDEN, MA — Early voting is underway in Malden ahead of the State Primary Election on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Residents can cast their ballots at the City Clerk's Office in Room 220 of Malden City Hall, 215 Pleasant St., from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Voting will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Aug. 27, when the city's early voting period will conclude.

Early voting began on Saturday, Aug. 22, when residents were able to cast their ballots from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Voting continued during the same hours on Sunday, Aug. 23, before City Hall was open for early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24.

Saturday, Aug. 22, was also the deadline for voter registration ahead of the State Primary Election. Residents can check their voter registration status and find other election information through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth's website.

Registered voters can also request a mail-in ballot for the election. Vote by Mail applications must be received by the City Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. on the fifth business day before the election. Applications can be submitted to the City Clerk's Office in Room 220 of City Hall, mailed to 215 Pleasant St., emailed, or placed in a ballot drop box at City Hall or the Malden Police Station. The city recommends applying as early as possible to allow enough time for ballots to be delivered and returned. Completed mail-in ballots can be returned to the City Clerk's Office, mailed to City Hall, or placed in a ballot drop box at City Hall or the Malden Police Station. Ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day.

Residents who choose to vote on Election Day can visit their regular polling place on Tuesday, Sept. 1, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Malden has multiple polling locations across its wards and precincts, and voters can find their polling location through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth's online tool.
