Malden High School Students Win Art Awards
Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards announced.

Malden High School Students bring home Gold and Silver Keys from the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards. (Tony) Zhao, Studio One, received a Gold Key for his piece titled, “Broken” and a silver Key for the drawing, “Lefty."
Other Malden High School students honored this year were Tracy Tran, Studio One, recipient of a Gold Key for her drawing, “Knotted Paper,” Alison Nguyen who received a Silver Key for her drawing, “Lunch” and an Honorable Mention for her painting, “Fall Bounty,” Thupten Jigme received an Honorable Mention for his mixed media submission titled Plane Board, and Katerina Taunova was awarded a Gold Key for her Art Portfolio.
Gold Key and Silver Key winners will be recognized on March 6. Almost 12,000 images were submitted in the various media categories created by over 6,000 individual students.
The Awards Ceremonies will take place at John Hancock Hall at the corner of Stuart Street and Berkeley Street in Boston. The exhibits are on display at the State Transportation Building Monday, Feb. 14 to Thursday, April 7, 2011 during the hours of Mon-Fri, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.. and Sunday, noon - 4 p.m. There are no Saturday or holiday hours. Groups planning to visit the exhibit need to call the office to arrange an assigned time.
