Malden Man Allegedly Beats Victim in Attempted Robbery at Sullivan Square Station

A 28-year-old Malden man allegedly tried to rob a 53-year-old man at the MBTA’s Sullivan Square Station in Charlestown at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday and then beat the victim when he didn’t have any money.
Mohamed Noor was arrested shortly after the incident by MBTA Transit Police and charged with assault with intent to rob (unarmed) and providing a false name at his booking, police said.

Moor allegedly demanded money from the man and, when the man said he had none, struck him in the face several times, knocking him to the ground. Moor continued to beat the man while he was on the ground, police said.
According to police, the victim eventually was able to break free and run to an MBTA bus. The bus driver was able to lock Noor out – Noor was in pursuit of the victim and began pounding on the bus’ doors until he heard sirens and fled, police said.

Police located Noor on a nearby bus and arrested him.
