Malden Police Move to New Headquarters Tuesday
After more than a year in development, the station at Eastern Avenue will open this week.

MALDEN, MA – Malden police will relocate to their new headquarters Tuesday, bringing an end to more than a year of redevelopment for the department.
The Malden Police Department tweeted Monday that it would officially begin operating out of its new location at 800 Eastern Ave. Tuesday morning.

The new station was included in the Malden Center redevelopment plan, which covered the following, according to a previous Patch report:

- Malden City Hall and the Police Station to be torn down
- Pleasant Street to be reconnected
- A mixed-use-development, containing the new City Hall, to be built on the site
- A new Police Station to be built at 794-838 Eastern Ave.
The project was funded by $6 million in state money and $12.5 million pledged by the Malden City Council.
