Malden Schools Staying Cool; No Cancelations

MALDEN, MA — The first day of school is on in Malden. Despite a stifling forecast that has some districts around the state closing, delaying, or dismissing early, the Malden Public Schools district will business as usual.

That isn't to say students won't be kept cool. All Malden schools are air-conditioned. The students will be given water breaks and nurses and staff will be on the lookout for heat-related symptoms, school officials said.
