MATV Announces MATV Week 2011

The public is invited to celebrate community media in Malden by taking part in any of a weeklong series of events May 16-21. Below is a brief description of the events. More info can be found on the website at www.matv.org.  

Media Madness Day: Monday, May 16, 12-1 p.m. outside the MATV facility. Malden High School drama students perform improv and interactive skits with passersby, while the fun is captured with our portable studio run by MATV volunteer crew.  

Youth Gallery Reception: Tuesday, May 17, 7-8:30 p.m.. Support our young artists in Malden, selected for our annual Middle School Art Exhibit in the MATV Gallery.  

"Soulkore Sessions" TV Studio Shoot: Wednesday, May 18, 7 p.m.. Come be part of a live audience for a new TV show featuring local performers .. in the MATV studio.  

"Switchbox Art Project" Video Screening: Thursday, May 19, 7 p.m. in the Malden Senior Community Center auditorium.  The public is invited to a screening documenting the painting of switchboxes in Malden during the summer of 2010. Get a closer look at this wonderful public art project taking place in Malden! A Q&A with the switchbox artists and organizers will follow the discussion.  

Open House Showcase: Saturday, May 21, 1-9 p.m. at MATV. Come be part of a LIVE, eight-hour cable show and webcast featuring local community guests and performers. The entire facility is open to the public with two studios in production. Watch as a live audience or "behind-the-scenes." All are welcome; come for any part of the show!
