Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service

Mayor Christenson put in some extra work recently.

The following is from the mayor's office:

Mayor Gary Christenson participated in the fifth Annual Corporation for National and Community Service “Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service” with Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES). The Mayor joined volunteers from the MVES RSVP Program read poetry to a second grade class at the Linden STEAM Academy. They also worked together on an art project making placemats that will be shared with elderly residents of local nursing homes.

The Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service highlights the importance and value of community service by encouraging volunteer service programs, thanking those who serve and inspiring others to volunteer. By unleashing the power of citizens, AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs have had a positive impact on our communities.
