• Hundreds Lose Power After Tree Falls Near Malden Park (patch.com) — A century-old tree near Malden's Amerige Park suddenly fell, knocking down utility poles, cutting power to nearly 300 National Grid customers, and prompting an overnight repair effort. City crews, police, and utility workers quickly restored service to almost all residents, and officials now plan to inspect nearby trees for hidden problems as the park heads into a planned improvement phase.
