Route 1 Chase: After Golden Banana Pit Stop, Man Nabbed Atop Trailer
Malden and State Police allegedly chased a man up Route 1 and into Peabody during an eventful pursuit.

PEABODY, MA - If your day involves the words "police chase" and "Golden Banana," it's probably a day you're going to regret. That was allegedly the case for a Malden man who led police on a chase up Route 1 before surrendering up a trailer home.
Here's how police say it went: Around 9:30 a.m., Malden Police attempted to arrest a wanted man at his home. The man allegedly took off in his vehicle, sparking a chase up Route 1.
Two State Police K-9 units caught up and took over the lead on the chase, which cut through Saugus, Lynnfield, and Peabody.

The suspect allegedly then peeled into the Golden Banana strip club parking lot and bailed on his vehicle, running into an adjacent trailer home community. Troopers gave chase on foot.
One Trooper Leigha Genduso and her K9 Kojak located the suspect on the roof of a trailer. State and Malden Police set up a perimeter.

State Police say the Malden Police chief was able to coax the suspect down off the trailer. The suspect was then arrested and transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
