Speedos, History and More In Boston This Weekend

Hot off the T: Five things to do in Boston this weekend.

(All events are in walking distance from stops on the MBTA.)

1.) : It’s become one of Boston’s quirkier traditions: The eighth annual Santa Speedo Run traverses Boylston Street 10 a.m. Saturday. Come cheer on the scantily clad runners, who are freezing their boots off for a good cause: The Play Ball Foundation.
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 12 minutes to the starting line at Lir.

2.) A Day in PompeiiFind out about the final days of this doomed city at the Museum of Science new temporary exhibit, opening this weekend. There are multiple shows all weekend. Tickets are $27 for adults and $24 for kids.
Take the Orange Line to North Station and walk 14 minutes to the Museum of Science, or take the Green Line to Science Park and walk five minutes to the museum.

3.) : Looking for the perfect gift? Hw about a handmade craft from a local artist? This year’s SoWa Holiday Market features over 80 artists.
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 14 minutes to Cathedral High School. 

4.) : Can’t get enough of Christmas music? The Boston Children’s Chorus will belt out some holiday favorites in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 for individuals and $20 for families of four.

5.) : It was 238 years ago on Dec. 16 when Samuel Adams told the congregation at the Old South Meeting House, “This meeting will do no more to save the country,” and left the pulpit. The phrase was code for the Sons of Liberty and assembled crowd to storm the wharf and start the Boston tea party. You can relive the moment 4 p.m. Sunday at the Old South Meeting House. Tickets are $9.
