Super 8: Malden Catholic Beats Austin Prep, Forces Game 3
The Lancers scored four straight goals to take the second game of the best-of-three series.
MALDEN, MA - Malden Catholic scored four straight goals after falling behind early, and the Lancers took a must-win game, 4-1, over Austin Prep Thursday night in Lowell.
The two teams will play a deciding Game 3 Saturday in Chelmsford Forum to see which moves on to the Super 8 semifinals.
Matt Yianacopolus, Nick Botticelli, Thomas Albert, and Corey Goldstein all scored for Malden Catholic.
Louis Finocchiaro scored for Austin Prep. He also scored both goals in the Cougars' double-overtime Game 1 victory, including the winner 31 seconds into the second extra frame.
